Professional

I've had the pleasure of working at three different dental practices during my undergraduate. Each welcomed me with open arms, shared invaluable advice, and offered constant encouragement. Through these opportunities, I learned how teamwork, friendship, and selflessness leads to a successful, impactful, and enjoyable career.

Academic Success Center

1:1 Tutoring

In between my dental internships, I pursued my passions for teaching and helping others by working at NC State's Academic Success Center. I worked as a one-on-one peer tutor for several semesters, earning the certification of a CRLA Level 2 Tutor. It was fulfilling to be a small part of a student's success in traditionally difficult science courses. Also, I grew so much as a person through my role as a tutor:

  • I raised my capacity for leadership by learning to balance encouragement with assertiveness.

  • I became a more patient person and better listener.

  • I honed my communication, organization, and time management skills with every tutoring session.

  • I improved the way I receive feedback, set goals, and reflect on my strengths and weaknesses.
